The VRHA ‘Pro Course’ consists of 6 hours of ground school and 10 hours of long line flight training, and upon successful completion you will receive the Part 133 External Load endorsement.
The course is broken up into 3 stages:
GROUND | Part 133 regulations, vertical reference techniques
FLIGHT | Vertical reference
GROUND | Long line equipment, VR HeliPark rules, hand signals, basic long line techniques and exercises
FLIGHT | Basic long line (various lengths), hook shots, cargo net
GROUND | Advanced long line techniques
FLIGHT | Oil barrels, simulated air conditioning box, utility pole placement, medical litter, seismic bags, confined area approaches between trees and obstacles
Upon completion of the ‘Pro Course’, you will have a solid foundation of vertical reference flying, experience with different line lengths and types of loads, and be comfortable operating with ground crew in a working area.
